So what are hair extensions Well they are artificial wefts of hair that are attached to your hair to give it length.

They are attached in many different ways, some women cornrow their natural hair and then have the wefts sewn onto the cornrows, thus protecting their own hair from damage, this is a long term technique, as a good 'weave' can be worn for up to 2 months.

A shorter term technique is to attach hair wefts using a special hair glue onto parted sections of the hair.

There are micro braid techniques, individual hair strand attaching using adhesive, hoops and cold fusion.

What are the best types of hair extension?

Most people would argue that human hair extensions are best, they last longer and the really expensive Remy hair is tangle free and can be re-used several times.

Most celebrities use, Indian, Chinese, Brazilian or Russian Remy hair. You can purchase lower quality human hair

Also there is synthetic hair. The latest types are so realistic that they are really increasing in popularity. The manufacturers use nylon types fibres.

Synthetic hair has become so advanced now that you can hot curl, wash and style the fibres just like human hair.
